Sint Maarten/St. Martin breathtaking scenery is an added bonus to playing on one of the most scenic golf courses in the Caribbean. Few locations in the world can accomodate the golf enthusiast as Sint Maarten/St. Martin can. Although St. Barthélemy does not have a single course, this does not mean that the duffer should feel left out, there are other options available. Golfers can take advantage of the driving range.

Mullet Bay Golf Course - This is the only course on Sint Maarten/St. Martin. It is, however, a championship-caliber course and can be challenging to any golfer of any handicap. The course was well-designed by Joseph Lee, and offers commanding views of the lagoon. The fairways are palm lined, and there are several lagoon water holes. The fairways are short and the greens are small, so it does present some challenges. It is just a short walk to the beach at Mullet Bay. There are tournaments held here year round, so you should call ahead for a tee-time. In late April the annual St. Maarten Open is held and over 100 golfers compete for the $10,000 cash prize that is offered along with other prizes. The Mullet Bay Hotel & Resort is at this time not in operation, but the St. Maarten Golf Association has seen to it that the golf course has remained open. If you are a serious golfer, you should consider a membership in the St. Maarten Golf Association, it is a good investment at $50 (US) for the calendar year, and it grants you several priveleges not available to non-members. St. Bart Driving Range - The topography and size of St. Barth make a golf course impossible. But a driving range is available to those who cannot get out to the various courses in the Caribbean. / St. Barthélemy, FWI / phone 590 37 46 45

Other Options - Because of the proximity of the other islands in the Caribbean, the serious golfers who wish to expand their horizons beyond just golf in St. Maarten, there is always the option of island-hopping to some of its closest neighbors and playing a few rounds elsewhere. Charter a small plane or boat and visit St. Thomas, St. Croix, or St. Kitts to test your skills at their beautiful courses.
